  13. interpreted (human-readable) format, or as hex bytes.  Editing of fields in
  14. both record and browse modes enabled by command-line switch.  New:  The /Fx
  15. switch sets different levels of filtering for .DBF files.

  22. Binary editor, with record orientation, which allows searches for either
  23. text or hex strings.  Default record size automatically set to maximum
  24. allowed by number of lines on screen.  (Maximum record size is 576 bytes
  25. with a 50-line screen.)  The program draws from a common library of routines
  26. shared with other programs I've written.  Color or black-and-white mode
  27. automatically determined at program start-up.  New:  Typing of extended
  28. ASCII characters enabled (for non-American users with modified keyboards).

  36. Employs external extractors and an external viewer (all user-selectable) to
  37. extract and view compressed files from within the program.  Currently
  38. supported are ARC, ARJ, LZH, LZS, PAK, ZIP and ZOO.  Displays either ZIP- or
  39. LZH-style compression ratios.  Various sort options.

  46. Allows you to see how a ZIP file is laid out on disk.  Uses windowing to
  47. step down to lower levels of detail.  Displays header offsets and most field
  48. values, including their interpretation.  Admittedly, this program isn't for
  49. everyone.  For the curious and those with a need to know, however, this
  50. program displays technical data on ZIP files that I haven't seen in any
  51. other program.  New:  Switch to set level of filtering for ZIP files.
  52. Configuration file for default switches.  Updated for the Super-fast Deflate
  53. compression algorithm.

  71. Employs external compressors and uncompressors (user-selectable) to
  72. transparently compress and uncompress files from within the program.
  73. Currently supported are AXE, DIET, EXEPACK, ICE, LEXEM, LZEXE, PKLITE,
  74. SCRNCH, SHRINK and TINYPROG.  New:  DIRX.CFG may now include command-line
  75. switches.

  78.        TITLE:  Cyclic Redundancy Checker v1.20, 02/08/92

  81. Displays 16- and 32-bit CRC's of files or directory contents.  16-bit CRC
  82. same as for ARC, LZH, LZS, PAK and ZOO files.  32-bit CRC same as for ARJ
  83. and ZIP.  "CRC filespec" displays individual CRC's for the specified
  84. file(s).  "CRC path" displays accumulated CRC's of all files contained in
  85. the specified directory.  May be used to compare files/directories on
  86. physically separated machines, or to see if changes have occurred over time.
  87. New:  The functions of both CRC v1.14 and CRCDIR v1.00 have been combined
  88. into a single program.

  94. Smaller, simpler version of DirX for when you just want a listing of
  95. compressed and uncompressed files.  Listing is redirectable to printer or
  96. file.  Mimicks DOS's DIR command, to an extent.  No sorting is performed.
  97. New:  Extends recognition of files compressed with LZEXE (hacked headers)
  98. and DIET (additional headers).
